My Wallis Family Line

At this stage in my research, my Wallis family origins appear to be firmly entrenched in the parishes of Bulphan and Childerditch in Essex.

My 3x Great Grandfather Richard Wallis (#193)(1792-1881) married Mary Ann Bankin (#194) in 1816 and they had seven children (two died young). But Mary Ann died in 1825 and Richard then married Mary Ann's step-sister, Penelope Dean, soon after and she became a much loved step-mother to the children. (see side bar}

Richards eldest son Richard (#98)(1818-1882), (my 2x Gt-Grandfather) emigrated to New Zealand in 1842, when a young man, and married a widow Mary Anne Lake Coster (nee Dockery) at Nelson in 1844. Her first husband, John Coster, had been killed at the Wairau Massacre at Tuapeka in 1843. Richard and Mary Ann had ten children and today there are many descendants throughout New Zealand. The Wallis descendants are outlined in the above linked file.

However, whilst I provide .pdf pages of my basic genealogy, it is never complete and will not include details of any living person. Note: The numbers behind each person's name are my computer generated "Record Idendification Numbers (RIN #s) used for identification purposes, particularly where several ancestors have the same name.

I would appreciate learning of any family details you know of that are not described here. Please email me: Keith Vautier
